Carolina is a Portuguese runner currently living in New Zealand.

I am a positive, sporty and energetic person and I've been involved in athletics for 15 years. I was in the first division of the Portugal championships for 8 years as a Sprinter. Following this, I trained in longer distances and now I love 10km races, and recently got a personal best in a virtual run. I consider myself a person who is passionate about healthy life: I love exercising, exploring the world, the outdoors and feeling alive. Since I've arrived in New Zealand I've been mainly participating in 10km races where I'm often in the top 3 by Division.

Since part of me is constantly trying to find a new challenge, I thought: how amazing would it be to run a 50km ultra marathon?! Crazy, right? But that's me. At least that's what people tell me. The Tarawera Ultra Run is the most famous scenic race in New Zealand. The views in this area are stunning. I have decided to enter and complete the run. Now it's time to train for my First Ultra Marathon!
